Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to host the 8th Asia Pacific Congress of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology.
For the first time, this congress will be held jointly with
the APAPARI Congress. We welcome all allergists, chest physicians, otorhinolaryngologists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists,
paediatricians, internists and allied health professionals with an interest in allergic and immune-based disorders, as well as representatives
from the pharmaceutical and medical devices companies, to participate in
this joint APCAACI-APAPARI 2010 in Singapore from 6-9
November.
The theme of the congress is 'From Bench to Bedside: Evidence-based Practice'. There will be scientific presentations and discussions on basic, clinical and translational research. We hope that this Congress will achieve its aim of translating and transmitting new knowledge and information to doctors and allied health professionals so that the best and most appropriate care leads to improved quality of life for our patients. Sessions that will foster interactions between different organ-based disciplines are planned. The Congress is traditionally also a meeting place for colleagues and friends to exchange ideas and develop plans for future collaborative clinical and research networks committed to Allergy and Immunology in the Asia-Pacific region.
The vibrant City State of Singapore will offer many more new and exciting attractions by the year 2010 with the opening of the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort, Gardens by the Bay and the world's tallest ferris wheel, the Singapore Flyer. These, together with restaurants serving world-class international cuisines, entertainment spots, boutiques, theatres, heritage buildings and museums, promise something for everyone to enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you to Singapore in November 2010.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 8th Asia Pacific Congress of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology
(APAAACI) which will be held in Singapore from
November 6-9, 2010. We warmly welcome all of you to this Congress.
Allergy has become one of the most frequently-occurring health issues in the world. Through research over the years, we have been able to come to a deeper understanding of various allergic and immunologic diseases, and develop better treatment and prevention strategies. The main objective of this upcoming congress is to translate both basic and clinical research into evidence-based practice. Thus, we have designated the theme for APCAACI 2010 as ‘From Bench to Bedside: Evidence-based Practice’.
This Congress will showcase scientific presentations and discussions on basic and clinical allergy and immunology. We hope that this Congress will achieve its aim of translating and transmitting new knowledge and information to doctors and allied health professionals to provide the best rational way of health care for patients.
The Asia-Pacific region comprises a wide variety of cultures and languages, and a population that is far larger than many of the other regions in the world. Therefore the Congress is also traditionally a meeting place for colleagues to promote friendly relations and to exchange clinical and research ideas with one another. This is essential towards developing collaborative clinical and research networks committed to allergy and immunology in the Asia-Pacific region.
We eagerly look forward to meeting you in Singapore, in November, 2010.
Best regards,

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our privilege to welcome delegates to the joint APCAACI-APAPARI 2010 meeting. It has now become an annual tradition for APAPARI to hold joint meetings with professional bodies of specialists from the Asia Pacific Region. This meeting in 2010 is however a first for APAPARI where we have the honour of co-hosting this congress with the Asia Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology
(APAAACI). The APAPARI council members wish to acknowledge the support of APCAACI’s Congress President, Professor Sang Il LEE.
The APAPARI council has worked closely with the local organizing chairperson Prof CHNG Hiok Hee and her team, to include a dedicated paediatric track within the scientific program. We recognize the increasing need for expertise in the management of allergic and immunologic disorders among children in the Asia Pacific region. Hence this programme is aimed at providing the opportunity for paediatricians from around the region to update their skills and knowledge in clinical immunology and allergy. It is also our intention to foster closer ties between paediatric allergists, immunologists and scientists in the region and the international arena with the ultimate goal of improving the care of our children with allergic and immunologic disorders.
Once again, we bid a warm welcome to all delegates to this meeting. We certainly look forward to meeting all our friends again, and making new ones. Here’s wishing everyone a fruitful and enjoyable time in Singapore.
Sincerely,
|
