GUIDELINES
Carefully read the guidelines below before submitting your abstract. Abstracts can be submitted in 2 ways:

The word limit for the text of the abstract is
350 words

The abstract title, author(s) and names of institutions are not to be included in the abstract text

For drug names, please use non-proprietary (generic) names of drugs, written in lower case

References, credits or the authors' academic degrees or grant support are not to be included in the abstract
|
|
Standard abbreviations may be used in the text. Insert abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears in the body of the text e.g. "drug allergy
(DA)".
In order for the
abstract to be as informative
as possible, please include a
brief statement of the purpose
of the study, the methods
used, the results observed,
and the conclusions based on the
results. It is inadequate to
state "The results will
be discussed" or
"The data will be
presented". We kindly ask you to subtitle the paragraphs in bold format in the following order: Background, Method, Results, and Conclusion.

ORIGINALITY
OF ABSTRACT Submitted abstracts must describe unpublished work.
ABSTRACT PRESENTATION
All abstracts will be considered for poster presentation and the Best Paper Awards.
AWARDS
AND TRAVEL GRANTS
Best Paper Awards
All submitted abstracts qualify for consideration for these awards under the following categories:
Open category (35 years and above on 1 Jan 2010)
One Best Poster Award
Four Commendation Awards
Junior category (below 35 years of age on 1 Jan 2010)
One Best Poster Award
Four Commendation Awards
The best papers will be selected for oral presentation. There are 2 top prizes of SGD500.00 each and 8 consolation prizes of SGD200.00 each.
Results will be announced and the awards presented in person at the Congress dinner on Monday, 8 November 2010.
APCAACI 2010 Travel Award
Abstracts submitted in this category will be selected for poster competition. Ten best posters will be selected. The awardees will each receive a sum of USD1,000.00. Please specify whether you would like to apply for the Travel Award during abstract submission.
Only applicants who meet the following criteria will qualify for the award selection:

A fully-paid registered delegate of the 8th APCAACI 2010/APAPARI Congress 2010
|

First author who is presenting the abstract
|
| |
From countries with emerging economies
|

Low-income economies includes: * Bangladesh * Cambodia * Korea, Dem Rep. * Lao PDR * Myanmar * Nepal * Pakistan * Papua New Guinea *Timor Leste *Vietnam

Applicant must be no more than 40 years of age on 1 January 2010 |

Have not received any award from either corporate company or hospital/institution |

Have not received ACIS, APAPARI and/or APAAACI awards before |

Posters will be set up in a dedicated area. Judging of selected posters for the APAAACI Travel Grant Award will be conducted on 8 November 2010. Recipients of the Travel Award will not be eligible for the Best Posters Awards.

Updates and changes in your abstract:
Changes in abstracts are only accepted until the submission deadline (Wednesday, 30 June 2010) by login your Personal Page, you can find the password included in the e-mail received upon submission. |
WITHDRAWAL
Submitted abstracts cannot be withdrawn unless with valid reason(s) approved by the APCAACI 2010 Scientific Committee. |

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent by the end of
August 2010 (contact
admin@apcaaci2010.org
if you have not received the notification by
2 September 2010). The corresponding author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract. The corresponding author is responsible for informing all authors of the status of the abstract.

PUBLICATION OF ABSTRACTS
Abstracts will be published in Programme cum Abstract Handbook.

Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Any abstract considered unsuitable for reproduction will not be published. In cases of abstracts with extremely poor English, the Abstract Selection Committee reserves the right to modify the submitted text. The Abstract Selection Committee however will make every effort in these instances not to alter the meaning of the text and will contact the submitting authors prior to publication.
